Summer Feast of San Nicola di Bari 2026

From 19 to 26 July 2026, Trecastagni celebrates its patron saint San Nicola di Bari with a week of religious and side events. The program includes processions, solemn masses, the evocative 'Notte Bianca Nicolaiana' (19 July), the sacred representation of the saint's life (24 July) and the vigil with the offering of wax and the unveiling of the simulacrum (25 July). On 26 July, the day of the feast, the simulacrum of San Nicola parades through the streets of the town accompanied by marching bands and concludes with the cantata to the patron saint and the fireworks display in piazza Marconi. The event is organized by the Arcipretura San Nicola di Bari with the patronage of the Municipality of Trecastagni.
Parking bans and traffic closures: - 19 July (Notte Bianca): from 6:00 PM closure of via Vittorio Emanuele, via Gangemi, via Don Luigi Sturzo, L.go Dei Bianchi and Corso Sicilia. - 24 July (Sacra rappresentazione): from 3:00 PM parking ban on piazza A. Moro; from 8:00 PM closure of corso Italia (from Salita Sant'Antonio to piazza A. Moro). - 25 July (Vigilia): from 6:30 AM parking ban in piazza Dei Bianchi; from 5:00 PM bans in piazza Marconi, via V. Emanuele and piazza Dei Bianchi for the pontifical. - 26 July (Festa): from 5:00 PM closure of via V. Emanuele and piazza Dei Bianchi for the exit of the simulacrum; bans along the procession route (via Toselli, piazza Libertà, via Catania, etc.); from 3:00 PM closure of the elementary school square for the fireworks display.
