On July 15 and 16, 2026, the celebrations in honor of the Madonna del Carmelo, patron saint of the city, will take place in Santa Teresa di Riva. The program includes religious moments and the solemn procession of the statue of the Virgin through the main streets of the center. On July 16, the day of the feast, the procession will start in the afternoon and will go through the main city arteries, ending in the evening. To ensure safe conduct, changes to traffic and parking bans are planned in the affected areas.
Day July 15, 2026: - No traffic and no parking (with removal) on Via R. Margherita (section Via Padre Giampietro - Via Dei Fabbri) and Via Fiorentino (expropriated area) from 2:00 PM to midnight. - Two-way traffic on Via Padre Giampietro (section Via R. Margherita - Via S. Spadaro) and no parking on the Messina side from 2:00 PM to midnight. - Two-way traffic on Via S. Spadaro (section Via Fiorentino - Via Padre Giampietro) and no parking on the mountain side from 2:00 PM to midnight. Day July 16, 2026: - No traffic on Via R. Margherita (section Via Padre Giampietro - Via Dei Fabbri) from 4:00 PM to midnight. - No parking (both sides) on Via R. Margherita (same section) from 4:00 PM to midnight. - No parking on Via Padre Giampietro (Messina side, section civic number 19 - Via R. Margherita) and two-way traffic from 4:00 PM to midnight. - No parking on the mountain side of Via S. Spadaro and two-way traffic (section Via Fiorentino - Via Padre Giampietro) from 4:00 PM to midnight. - No traffic on Via Fiorentino (entire), Via S. Spadaro (section Via Fiorentino - Via Sparagonà), Via Sparagonà (entire), SP 23 (section Via Panoramica Maria Teresa d'Austria - Fraz. Giardino), Via R. Margherita (entire), Via F. Crispi (section Via R. Margherita - Piazza Porto Salvo) from 5:00 PM until the end of the procession. - No parking on Via R. Margherita, mountain side (section Via Stradella Messina - Via Padre Giampietro) and Via Sparagonà (from Via R. Margherita to the railway embankment) from 5:00 PM until the end of the procession. - No parking on the sea side of Via Lungomare P. Borsellino (section civic number 109 - 110) from 5:00 AM to midnight. - For Via Fiorentino, Via Sparagonà and Misserio: access only from Via Padre Giampietro, exit from Via Padre Giampietro and Via Sparagonà.
