The San Marco Iron Fest reaches its XIV edition, an international iron sculpture competition that enlivens the village for the entire day. The event includes live forging sessions, an exhibition of wrought iron works, and demonstrations of the ancient farrier craft. There are also entertainment moments with archers, tastings of local specialties, and an evening concert by Sud Cantica.
Time: 07:00 - 23:00 Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 07:00 to 17:00 (competition and demonstrations). Exhibition from 10:00 at the Church of S. Maria dei Poveri. Archery field at 18:00 in the courtyard of the Church of Maria SS. di Aracoeli. Granita tasting at 20:00. Concert and closing ceremony from 21:00. During the day: itinerant tavern, falconry, and play area. Free admission.

Dal 24 luglio al 14 agosto 2026, il Comune di San Marco d'Alunzio organizza il 'Centro Estivo 2026' presso i locali della scuola dell'infanzia. L'iniziativa è rivolta a bambini dai 4 ai 10 anni e si svolge dal lunedì al sabato, dalle 08:30 alle 13:00, offrendo attività ricreative, ludiche e sportive. Il centro estivo è gratuito per le famiglie, grazie a un contributo del Dipartimento per le Politiche della famiglia e a risorse proprie del Comune, con l'obiettivo di sostenere la conciliazione vita-lavoro e favorire la socializzazione dei minori.

Throughout the day, the Antica taverna itinerante offers tastings of medieval specialties and themed setups, alongside falconry demonstrations and a play area for children. The event starts at 10:00 AM with welcome, while the official opening is at 5:00 PM and the competition begins at 6:00 PM.

The San Marco Iron Fest returns to San Marco d'Alunzio for its 14th edition on Friday, August 7, 2026. Born in 2007 from the idea of the founding members of the Italian Association of Artistic Blacksmiths, this biennial event combines the ancient art of forging with Sicilian culinary tradition. In past editions, the event has attracted master blacksmiths from all over the world, from Japan to Ukraine, passing through the Czech Republic and Spain, who have engaged in spectacular live forging. The program maintains the usual mix of art and taste: from the early morning hours, the square of the Church of S. Maria dei Poveri hosts the international iron sculpture competition with live forging and an exhibition of the works created. The evening is enlivened by itinerant folk songs, falconry shows, an archery field, and an area dedicated to children. The highlight is the porchetta festival, accompanied by an itinerant tavern with medieval-inspired specialties and a charity auction of wrought iron sculptures, the proceeds of which go to charity.
