From 24 to 30 August 2026, Piana degli Albanesi celebrates the 538th anniversary of its foundation, which took place on 30 August 1488 with the signing of the Foundation Chapters. The programme, titled "Hora e Arbereshevet - The Roots of Identity", spans seven days and includes conferences and historical-cultural insights, exhibitions dedicated to Arbëresh history and iconography, educational activities on the local language and culture, a historical procession with folk groups and performers, the Village of Traditions with artisans and local producers, musical performances and initiatives to promote Arbëresh identity.

I festeggiamenti in onore di Maria SS. Odigitria si svolgono a Piana degli Albanesi il 1 e 2 settembre 2026. Il programma prevede una processione del simulacro della Madonna per le vie del centro storico e un evento musicale serale in piazza Vittorio Emanuele. L'evento è organizzato dall'Associazione Shen Meria e Dhitrjes.
