From May 29 to December 31, 2026, the project “Fuori dal Giro” brings an integrated service for the prevention and treatment of pathological addictions to the squares of Palermo's historic center. Promoted by the Municipality of Palermo and the ASP, it is managed by the ATI formed by Fondazione Don Calabria per il Sociale ETS and Consorzio Sol.Co. Rete di Imprese Sociali Siciliane. The mobile units, set up in Piazza Casa Professa, Via Messina Marine, Piazza S. Anna and Piazza Croce dei Vespri, offer prevention, harm reduction and health promotion activities. Operators meet people in situations of addiction and social marginality, both in the most vulnerable neighborhoods and in the nightlife areas. The service is active during the day and night, with a constant presence until the end of the year to ensure proximity interventions and health support.

Estate Musicale 2026 - Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana a Villa Filippina

From June 12 to September 25, 2026, Villa Filippina hosts the Estate Musicale 2026 of the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana. The program ranges from classical repertoire (Beethoven, Rossini, Tchaikovsky) to forays into musicals, cinema, and tributes to Whitney Houston and the Beatles, with unusual instruments such as the dulcimer and Richard Galliano's accordion. The season opens on Friday, June 12 at 9 p.m. with Nicolò Jacopo Suppa on the podium and Florin Grüter on the dulcimer. An opportunity to hear the orchestra in a historic setting in the heart of Palermo, a stone's throw from the Politeama Garibaldi.

The chamber music series Note al Museo returns to the historic Atrium of Palazzo Abatellis, home of the Galleria Regionale della Sicilia. Every Thursday evening, the professors of the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana perform in chamber ensembles, creating a dialogue between music and the museum's artistic heritage. The 2026 program opens on June 25 and continues until September 27. Among the scheduled events, on July 2 the Duo Corli, Scilipoti performs works by Kodály, Boulanger, and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. The limited capacity of 144 seats makes each concert an intimate experience, just steps away from the Gallery's masterpieces.

From July 24 to October 31, 2026, the Regional Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art RISO in Palermo hosts the exhibition 'The Weight of Dreams', dedicated to Colombian artist Fernando Botero. The exhibition brings together 12 works including paintings, drawings, watercolors and a sculpture, from the Fernando Botero Zea Collection. Curated by Fernando Botero Quintana and Nicola Barbatelli, the exhibition explores the themes dear to the master: female figure, still lifes, circus and bullfighting. The title alludes to the artist's ability to give visual weight to interiority, offering a synthesis of his poetics.
