The cultural association UMT, in collaboration with the Institute of Psychosynthesis and the Messina Group, organizes an Open Day dedicated to Psychosynthesis. The meeting "Conoscersi per trasformare" (Knowing oneself to transform) explores the multiplicity of consciousness, the various types of the unconscious, psychic functions, and the potential of the Superconscious and the Soul, with the aim of learning to master oneself and facilitating the transformation of the environment towards harmony. The day includes a collective meditation for the emergence of a new humanity, immersed in nature near the Badiazza. The event is open to all, no experience required.

From August 29 to September 13, the Gravitelli district of Messina renews its devotion to the Madonna delle Grazie with a program that intertwines liturgy and moments of popular celebration. The novena, daily masses, and the procession with the Archbishop mark the spiritual journey, while five-a-side football tournaments, group dances, the singing festival, and the traditional sausage party with the Canterini Siciliani enliven the evenings. The heart of the festival falls on September 8, the solemnity of the Nativity of Mary, with solemn masses and the blessing of expectant mothers. The march for life, starting from Piazza Duomo, and the Marian vigil complete a calendar that unites faith, participation, and conviviality.

Tempo del Creato 2026

The Archdiocese of Messina - Lipari - Santa Lucia del Mela organizes the Tempo del Creato 2026, a period of reflection and prayer dedicated to the care of creation. The program begins on September 1st with a Eucharistic celebration at the Santuario Madonna di Lourdes, followed by a concert by the Duo Tusa - Pitali. Various events are planned, including a valorization of the natural heritage of the Colli San Rizzo on September 5th, an ecumenical prayer at the Parco Agorà dello Stretto on September 26th, and the conclusion with a Eucharistic celebration in the Cathedral on October 4th.

SOLENNITÀ DELLA NATIVITÀ DELLA BEATA VERGINE MARIA - TRADIZIONALE ARRIVO DELLA SACRA LETTERA A MESSINA

La Solennità della Natività della Beata Vergine Maria anima la Cattedrale di Messina con un intenso programma liturgico dal 7 al 12 settembre. Si comincia il 7 con il Rosario, la celebrazione eucaristica e i Primi Vespri, seguiti dalla benedizione con la venerata reliquia dei Capelli della Vergine, un gesto di antica devozione mariana. L'8 settembre, giorno della festa, la Cattedrale risuona con la matinée all'organo Tamburini e lo scampanio a festa. Nel pomeriggio, dopo il Rosario e la solenne Eucaristia, il simulacro di Maria Bambina viene traslato nella Cripta (chiesa ipogea di Santa Maria sotto il Duomo), dove resta esposto fino al 12, memoria del Nome di Maria.
