XX Festival di Musica Antica di Gratteri

Il XX Festival di Musica Antica di Gratteri è un appuntamento consolidato che porta nel borgo siciliano le sonorità della musica antica, eseguita in luoghi suggestivi come la Chiesa di Santa Maria di Gesù e Piazza Monumento. Il festival si articola in tre serate, dal 28 al 30 agosto 2026, con concerti che valorizzano il patrimonio storico e artistico del paese.

The patronal feast of Saint James the Apostle in Gratteri has ancient origins, dating back to the 12th century, and is renewed every year in the heart of the Madonie. The celebrations take place in the first ten days of September, when the historic center comes alive with religious rites and popular events. The opening day is announced by the firing of mortars and the passage of the Angelo Tornabene Band through the streets of the town. The most solemn moment is the procession on September 9: the wooden statue of the saint, covered in pure gold, is carried on the shoulders together with the relics, accompanied by the confraternities. At the end, after the blessing, blessed grapes are distributed, and the evening closes with a fireworks display.
